Get To Know: Olivia!

At Escape Asylum we believe that part of what separates us is the interaction we have with our customers, we like to create a warm personal feel to our team and that extends to everyone that walks through the door, so to help bring you closer to the team we will be profiling each member of staff to give you an insight in to what makes them tick!

You've seen her before, you may even know her name but did you know Olivia has an unhealthy obsession with Japan? Probably not, and it's for this reason that today we will be bringing you closer to our longest serving member of the team, Olivia May Mackness.

Olivia joined Escape Asylum as an apprentice when she was 17 and quickly proved herself to be a fantastic member of the team, quickly learning all games and developing her dodgy American accent in the meantime.  Not just a hit with the customers she also is incredibly handy, using her experience from her previous job as painter/decorator she successfully managed to paint half of every wall in the whole building... as well as the carpets, furniture, and her own clothes.

A wise head on 18 year old shoulders Olivia has an extremely cute dog which she loves excessively and is also 1 of 3 children and has a twin brother, in her own words they are "both doing smart people things going to Uni doing boring subjects, getting into debt while I earn money!".  Among her interests she lists food, music, movies, games, and horror, the dislike list was too excessive for a blog but needless to say she comes across as quite fussy!

Olivia plans to visit Japan one day in the near future, she learned Japanese in 1 month and speaks fluently, so for any Japanese guests please feel free to test Olivia on her knowledge! Also a self confessed expert on anime and Asian dramas there really is nothing Olivia doesn't know about the Far East, even choosing them as her specialist subject on her recent appearance on the German version of Mastermind.

So what's next for Olivia? She hopes to be driving in the near future and is also keen to buy her first property, funded by selling her artwork, an enthusiastic artist with a particular interest in portraits, Olivia won the award of "Leicester's Next Picasso" for 10 years running before they renamed the award in her honour and created the "Olivia Mackness Suite" in Leicester's Museum of Fine Art From Around The World.

And for Olivia's final thoughts "I can't wait to see you all when you come an visit Escape Asylum!"
